Tesoro Viejo Announces Inaugural Home Builders

Inaugural homebuilders announced for Tesoro Viejo in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY – Tesoro Viejo Development announces the inaugural homebuilders in Hillside Village, its first residential village with model homes opening this fall. The group includes national and local homebuilders D.R. Horton, K. Hovnanian Homes, and McCaffrey Homes as the first homebuilders at Tesoro Viejo, a master-planned community in southeastern Madera County off Highway 41 and just a ten minute drive north of River Park Shopping Center.

The roster of homebuilders will build five neighborhoods to offer homebuyers a wide array of home sizes, designs and styles.  Builders have not yet announced their pricing, but homes in the community are anticipated to start from the low $300,000s.

“We are thrilled to work with this highly regarded group of homebuilders who understand quality and the importance of community,” said Brent McCaffrey, president of Tesoro Viejo Development.  “Tesoro Viejo is a stunning piece of land, and we look forward to working together to create a community that connects neighbors to each other and nature.”

Tesoro Viejo is a breathtaking site of about 1,600 acres of gently rolling hills and vistas. The community is situated at the foot of Little Table Mountain and has been thoughtfully designed to capture its scenic surroundings, offering residents views of the sloping hillsides and the dramatic Sierra foothills.  Tesoro Viejo will feature about 400 acres of permanently preserved natural open space, parks, recreational areas and miles of trails.

D.R. Horton will build The Bluffs at Hillside Village, designed specifically for Tesoro Viejo offering unique one and two-story homes created with families in mind.  They are the largest homebuilder in the United States with a philosophy spanning 40 years to create value every step of the way.

“The vision of providing not only a quality built, family-friendly home but truly an entire community experience is very exciting. Our entire team is looking forward to bringing our best to this project,” said Joey Gendron, Vice President of Sales for D.R. Horton.

  1. Hovnanian Homes will bring their Vista Bella collection with a variety of architectural styles to choose from based on historical styles reminiscent of the region’s agricultural roots including mission, craftsman, modern farmhouse, and contemporary rustic. For more than 50 years, they have been creating communities nationwide with a history of solid success and award-winning standards.

“We are very fortunate to be part of this unique and exciting new community,” said Mike Wyatt, K. Hovnanian Homes Division President.  “Our commitment to designing, building and delivering affordable, quality homes is what has enabled us to provide the dream of homeownership for over 50 years, and we will continue to do so at our Vista Bella neighborhood in beautiful Tesoro Viejo.”

McCaffrey Homes also joins the first homebuilding team at Hillside Village and will bring three distinctive neighborhoods – two of which will be designed exclusively for Tesoro Viejo. The local family homebuilder has deep roots in the Central Valley, delivering award-winning designs and crafting high-quality homes for more than three generations.

“Tesoro Viejo is a special place and we are pleased to be a part of it,” said Ash Knowlton, Vice President of Construction for McCaffrey Homes.  “We are excited to bring the residents of Tesoro Viejo innovative designs that meet their needs.”

Hillside Village will offer up to 800 homes that provide diverse housing options to fit a wide range of lifestyles and needs.  Hillside Village will feature a resort-style clubhouse, an amphitheater, neighborhood parks, Chawanakee Unified School District’s new Hillside School that will serve students from transitional kindergarten through 8th grade, and about a three-mile trail system that will surround the Village and lead to the Town Center.

The Town Center is styled after a small town main street, and will house the Madera County Fire Station No. 7 and Madera County Sheriff Substation, as well as “The Hub” – Tesoro Viejo’s innovative Welcome Center that will feature a neighborhood coffee bar and eatery plus multi-use offices.  In addition, the event lawn will deliver an exceptional outdoor atmosphere for community entertainment and activities.

The grand opening for the first set of model homes is slated for this fall.  For additional information, interested home shoppers are encouraged to join the interest list at www.tesoroviejo.com.
